Tribeca To Celebrate 40th Anniversary Of ‘Taxi Driver’ With Panel Featuring Scorsese & Cast

The Tribeca Film Festival is reuniting Director Martin Scorsese with the stars and screenwriter of Taxi Driver for the seminal 1976 film’s 40th anniversary, the festival has announced. The film will screen April 21 at the Beacon Theatre during the 15th annual Tribeca Film Festival, followed by a panel discussion moderated by Kent Jones and featuring Scorsese, Robert De Niro, Jodie Foster, and Cybill Shepherd, along with screenwriter Paul Schrader. Tickets will be available beginning March 24 at 10 AM EST at the theater’s official site, or through Ticketmaster.

Hailed as one of the greatest films of all time, Taxi Driver received four Oscar nominations, including Best Picture and Best Actor for Robert De Niro, and two Golden Globes. It received a 4K digital remaster and restoration by Sony in 2011, subsequently shown in a limited theatrical release, and is currently available on Blu-ray and digital from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The film stars Robert DeNiro, Jodie Foster, Albert Brooks, Leonard Harris, Peter Boyle, and Cybill Shepherd, and was produced by Michael Phillips and Julia Phillips.

The 2016 Tribeca Film Festival runs April 13-24.
